The Municipality of Mleiha was established pursuant to Emiri Decree No. (11) of 2004 establishing the Mleiha Municipality in the Emirate of Sharjah. It has a legal personality and enjoys financial and administrative independence and provides public services within its geographical and administrative borders. The municipality, in turn, cooperates with all government agencies in order to serve the people of the region. There are many departments and divisions in the municipality, all of which are doing their part to serve the region.
About the Department and Sub - Division
1. Engineering Department
The municipality has sought its continued support and its important and tangible role in developing the work of the technical department by providing distinguished engineering staff, as well as directives in which it is always keen to enhance ways of cooperation, work in a team spirit, and facilitate procedures and facilitation for citizens in a way that contributes to achieving the municipality’s goals by providing all services to customers within the highest standards of quality. Mastery and speed of completion.
Since the inception of this department in the municipality until now, it is considered one of the most effective and vital departments by providing various services related to the work of construction projects, and what is related to them, from reviewing documents, approving plans, issuing licenses and inspection visits, all the way to issuing completion certificates, in addition to other services, for example. Not limited to (issuing regular building permits, maintenance permits, inspection reports, and no-objection certificates for providing services, classifying contractors...etc.).
By providing various services, the Engineering Department contributes to the development of society and the development of the city of Mleiha in terms of urban and construction, as we place in our priorities the preservation of the cultural heritage of the region by paying attention to the beauty of the urban form of the buildings, and working to reduce the phenomenon of random construction on farms to preserve the agricultural area. 2. Agriculture Department
The Agriculture Department of the Municipality of Mleiha is increasing the green areas of the city, and this is the main goal that the municipal administration seeks to achieve in order to protect the environment from pollution and reflect the aesthetic view of the city.

The municipal agriculture department decorates the streets, roads, and public squares in the city with seasonal flowers and trees under the supervision of specialists from the municipality, and then plants government departments, institutions, and schools in the area.
3. Public Health Department
The most important components of life and the development of societies lie in its health and safety, which it derives from the health of its environment and the safety and quality of its food. For this reason, the Public Health Department is also considered one of the most important and most vital departments in the municipality due to the diversity of services and daily tasks, as it makes great efforts in maintaining public health and preventing the occurrence of diseases (prevention). of diseases (by applying and relying on general laws, legislation, local orders and decisions issued by the relevant authorities. The Public Health Department includes more than one division, each of which has different tasks.
1. Food and Veterinary Control Division It is concerned with food safety during its various stages (handling, production, preparation, display and marketing) such as restaurants, cafeterias, groceries, supermarkets and hypermarkets, etc. through inspection, follow-up, sampling and implementation of all requirements for granting approvals for new licenses and following them up to ensure the extent of their commitment to implementing the relevant laws and regulations. It receives complaints and follows them up. The division also includes the municipal slaughterhouse, where it examines animals before and after slaughter by specialists in accordance with the highest standards applicable in this field.
2. Health Supervision Division It is concerned with periodic follow-up and inspection of stores related to public health, such as men’s and women’s salons, laundromats, beauty centers, etc., and monitoring the extent of their commitment to implementing the relevant laws and regulations and receiving and following up on complaints.
3. Environment and Occupational Health Division It is concerned with managing human activities in a way that protects the environment from the harmful effects of these activities on it, and aims to make human industrial, agricultural, tourism, and other human activities harmless or less harmful to the safety of the environment in which humans live and depend on all their activities. As for occupational safety and health, it aims to protect workers in establishments from possible accidents that may cause injury to the worker or death, God forbid, as well as damage or damage to the establishment’s property.
4. Safety and Municipal Inspection Division (Market Control) Through the Division, various permits are issued that regulate work, as well as work on monitoring all stores in the region and inspecting counterfeit goods, commercial fraud, and prohibited materials in accordance with applicable regulations and legislation.
5. Health Education Division It is concerned with raising the level of public awareness and health culture and developing the level of health status in the region along with their right to live in a healthy city with high-quality services. There are also departments, such as the Security and Loose Animals Department, who carry out their role 24 hours a day, in cooperation and coordination with the Sharjah Police General Command, represented by the Maliha Police Station as a strategic and service partner in the region, and the various government agencies to maintain security procedures in the region, and organize inspection tours on an ongoing basis to reduce any apparent Generally negative and eliminate it.
4. Finance Department
The financial administration plays a vital role, at the core of which lies the preparation of the general budget of the department, in addition to implementing the approved financial policies, systems and procedures and allocating financial resources according to the approved budget. The administration also works to follow up on annual expenditures, submit reports thereon, and prepare the department’s final account.
The tasks of the Financial Affairs Department also include managing and developing supplier relationships, and developing an annual plan for the periodic maintenance of the department’s property and securing it in a way that maintains its safety and the cleanliness of the department’s facilities.
This department is responsible for organizing, managing and monitoring the approved financial budget of the municipality (operating and capital), as well as monitoring the volume of spending based on the approved distribution of funds and issuing periodic financial reports to senior management. It also supervises all accounting and financial matters related to the municipality and coordinates with relevant external parties in related matters.
As for the Purchasing Division, it works on managing the purchasing process for all municipal departments, obtaining quotations from suppliers, and executing purchase orders.
5. General Services Department
The Municipality's Public Services Department carries out its service role by carrying out general maintenance and helping the people of the area with their beds on special occasions. This is based on the social role that the municipality plays towards the people of the area by participating in their joys and sorrows. It also decorates the streets and roundabouts in the area for public events. The municipality also provides services such as removing sewage from citizens’ residential buildings, as well as commercial buildings.
6. Municipal Inspection Department
The Municipal Inspection Department is considered one of the important departments in the municipality that works 24 hours a day to maintain security measures in the area in cooperation with the Sharjah Police General Command. The department also follows up on any negative phenomena, if any, and limits their spread and eliminates them through inspection tours and campaigns throughout the year. Today, we follow up on stray animals and keep them away from public roads for the safety of road users and the safety of animals.
